Stroke Awareness
Campaign site: www.strokesnojoke.org
African Americans are almost twice as likely to suffer a first-ever stroke as compared with white Americans. And to compound this disparity, African American men and women demonstrate a greater hesitancy in calling 9-1-1. To reduce the long-term effects of stroke, at-risk individuals and bystander are urged to act immediately and call 9-1-1 at the first sign of a stroke.
